Baseball Recap: Hansberry Comes Up Short

Hansberry was the 18-13 winner over Mansueto when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bengals came up short against the Leopards on Thursday, falling 18-3. The defeat leaves the Bengals still looking for their first win of the season.

Hansberry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derrick Campbell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That hit was Campbell's first of the season. Another was Kelly Mcdonald, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Hansberry's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mansueto, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hansberry will take on rival The Noble Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mansueto is set to challenge their familiar foe Pritzker on the 26th.
