Basketball Recap: Choctaw County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Sweet Water

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Choctaw County). They breezed by the Sweet Water Bulldogs to the tune of 68-38 on Tuesday. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 22 point advantage.

Leading Choctaw County to victory were Jarrod Chaney and Daylen Blakley. Chaney almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists, while Blakley went 8 for 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Chaney a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Thomas, who went 5 of 11 en route to 10 points.

Choctaw County's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Sweet Water, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Choctaw County will welcome University Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sweet Water, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-41 loss against Marengo on the 23rd.
