Softball Game Preview: Beverly Hills Normans vs. Hawthorne Cougars

Beverly Hills is 0-10 against Hawthorne since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Normans will host the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Beverly Hills has given up an average of 15.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Beverly Hills' offense. They lost 23-0 to Leuzinger on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 28 runs in the game before, the Normans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hawthorne took on Lennox Academy on Saturday. The Cougars blew past the Panthers 19-4. Considering the Cougars have won eight contests by more than 11 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hawthorne is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Beverly Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
