Baseball Recap: Post Comes Up Short

Post was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Tahoka Bulldogs, falling 14-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-17 last Saturday.

Daniel Carroll was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. IsaIah Moreno also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Carroll wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Post kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Post's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Tahoka, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Post will challenge rival Seagraves at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Tahoka is set to square off against their familiar foe New Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Tahoka has won three straight at home, while New Home won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
