Basketball Recap: Patriot's Loss Ends 15-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Patriot was feeling good fresh off their 60-29 takedown of Osbourn last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriot Pioneers had to suffer through a 79-49 loss at the hands of the Varina Blue Devils. The game marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Patriot's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Madrigal, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Gaskins, who earned 11 points.

Patriot's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Patriot has already played their next contest, a 66-55 win against Freedom on the 13th. As for Varina, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-52 victory against Hermitage on the 20th.
