Baseball Game Preview: East Windsor Panthers vs. Ellington Knights

East Windsor is 0-9 against Ellington since April of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Knights at 10:00 a.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

It was a proper cat-fight when East Windsor duked it out with Suffield on Friday. The Panthers fell 5-1 to the Wildcats. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

East Windsor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tim Mehan, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ellington might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Somers who claimed the real prize. The Knights fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Ellington and nudges their season record down to 14-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for East Windsor, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

East Windsor might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Ellington in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
