Basketball Game Preview: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Cane Bay Cobras

The Sumter Gamecocks will head out on the road to take on the Cane Bay Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Sumter beat Spring Valley 59-46. The Gamecocks haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Cane Bay waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 59-54 W against the Gators.

Cane Bay pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Sumter, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.

Sumter strolled past Cane Bay when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 59-44. Will Sumter repeat their success, or does Cane Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
