Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Raton

Raton barely beat Estancia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Bears 17-7 on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Azden Romero was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and one double. Raton is 4-1 when Romero posts two or more runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Santiago Castillo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Raton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was the third in a row for Raton, bringing their record up to 5-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Estancia, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Raton will welcome Clayton at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Estancia, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Michael's at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Horsemen have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
