Basketball Recap: Hapeville Charter Comes Up Short

Hapeville Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Holy Innocents Episcopal Golden Bears, falling 70-44. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-36 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Hapeville Charter lost, don't look at Lyndale Roberts. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Roberts' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Chase Truitt was another key player, putting up five points.

Caleb Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Holy Innocents Episcopal, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Wilson has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Khalid Worthy, who went 5 for 7 to rack up 12 points and six boards.

Hapeville Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Holy Innocents Episcopal, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Hapeville Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-41 loss against Carver on the 4th. As for Holy Innocents Episcopal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-51 win against Therrell on the 6th.
