Neuse Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Albemarle School as they made off with a 3-0 win.
Neuse Christian Academy never let Albemarle School on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-16.
Meanwhile, Crossroads Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Cape Fear Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Colts haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Crossroads Christian took Cape Fear Christian Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-12, 15-12.
Neuse Christian Academy will need to focus on slowing down Sophie Wade, one of several Crossroads Christian players who made an impact when they last played. She had 33 digs. Wade has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played. Avery Ranes was another key player, getting 17 digs.
Crossroads Christian now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Neuse Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
