Putnam Vo-Tech came tearing into Wednesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged the Pope Francis Prep Cardinals out 73-70. The win was all the more spectacular given the Beavers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Cardinals are ranked seventh).

Putnam Vo-Tech's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points over those games. As for Pope Francis Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-3.

As of now, neither Putnam Vo-Tech nor Pope Francis Prep have any future games scheduled.
