Baseball Preview: Tomball Kings Homeschool vs. Bo Porter Academy Royals
After two games on the road, Tomball Kings is heading back home. They will take on the Bo Porter Academy Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Last Tuesday, it was close, but Tomball Kings sidestepped Cooper for a 7-5 win.
Mikey Sharp looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits.
At the plate, Ryan Nordlander was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Brayden Owens was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Bo Porter Academy won against Cornerstone Christian Academy back in April with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again back in April. Bo Porter Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Cornerstone Christian Academy and snuck past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but Bo Porter Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Bo Porter Academy's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was George Malone, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Tomball Kings' win bumped their record up to 12-26-1. As for Bo Porter Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
