Basketball Recap: Boonville Takes a Loss

Boonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heritage Hills Patriots. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 67-48 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Heritage Hills found their leader in sophomore Tait Wetzel, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Colten Hopf, who went 5 for 10 to rack up 13 points.

Boonville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Heritage Hills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Boonville will be playing in front of their home fans against Evansville Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage Hills, they have already played their next match, a 58-43 win against Jasper on the 8th.
