Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Drury). Everything went their way against the Chicopee Comp Colts on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-1 victory. With that win, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
Olivia Perry made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Sloan Brothers was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Ava Carriddi also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Drury hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
