Manatee extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 10 this week by beating Southeast, 52-13. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Hurricanes.
Manatee took down the Seminoles 52-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cord Sandberg threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 70 yards in the win.
Joe Kinnan's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Trevon Walters chipped in 103 yards. Walters helped Manatee's passing attack out by catching two balls for 63 yards.
Marquel Hines was the best wideout in the league this week as the Hurricanes bested Southeast. Hines racked up three receptions for 92 yards.
Manatee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hurricanes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sandberg has thrown for 923 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Hines has 12 catches for 283 yards. Walters leads the league in rushing with 370 yards.
Two of the top units in 7A District 10 will face off this week when Manatee takes on Braden River. The Hurricanes' offense has racked up 186 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Pirates have allowed only 173 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Manatee takes on Braden River. As it stands, the Hurricanes are in first, while Curt Bradley's team is in fourth.
