Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Admiral Farragut BlueJackets

The Shorecrest Prep Chargers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Admiral Farragut took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Shorecrest Prep, who comes in off a win.

Shorecrest Prep is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They skirted past Osceola 44-41.

It was another big night for Nickolas Bearden, who posted 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Crumity, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, Admiral Farragut came up short against IMG Academy Black on Wednesday and fell 49-39. The contest marked the BlueJackets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Shorecrest Prep will need focus on slowing down Lukas Fontasiewicz, one of several Admiral Farragut players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and three steals. Marco De Carvalho was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Even though they lost, Admiral Farragut smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Shorecrest Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Admiral Farragut, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-9.

Shorecrest Prep beat Admiral Farragut 44-36 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shorecrest Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
