Baseball Game Preview: San Dieguito Academy Mustangs vs. Valley Center Jaguars

For the second straight game, San Dieguito Academy will face off against Valley Center. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. San Dieguito Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for San Dieguito Academy's offense. They fell just short of Valley Center by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Cameron Kalt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, San Dieguito Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Keener, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Valley Center has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for San Dieguito Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
