Basketball Recap: Northeastern Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northeastern). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Victory College Prep Bulldogs 77-45. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Noah Payne, who went 11 of 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam White, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Victory College Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern will take on Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northeastern knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Cambridge City Lincoln likes a good challenge. As for Victory College Prep, they will challenge Tindley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
