Baseball Game Preview: East Webster Wolverines vs. Booneville Blue Devils

For the second straight game, East Webster will face off against Booneville. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Webster's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Booneville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

East Webster is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Booneville just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 7-6.

For Booneville's part, Cade Lott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Booneville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Matthews, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Booneville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for East Webster, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.
