Texas high school baseball RBI leaders: Kayden Voelkel of Mansfield Legacy, Braden Adams of Hawkins top leaderboard

Both sluggers lead their squads into playoffs this weekend with three-game sets.

Senior Kayden Voelkel of Mansfield Legacy (Mansfield) and Hawkins junior Braden Adams share the top spot for most RBI in Texas, according to the MaxPreps leaderboards. Each player has driven in 45 runs, Voelkel in 27 games and Adams in 20.

Mansfield Legacy is 22-5 heading into a three-game playoff set with Trimble Tech. Voelkel, a third baseman and pitcher, has blasted 11 doubles and five RBI while hitting .398. He's also 4-1 on the mound with a 1.95 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 32.1 innings.

Adams is averaging better than two RBI per game with highs of seven in back-to-back wins over Carlisle. He's hitting a remarkable .623 (43 of 69) with 13 doubles, two triples and five home runs. The Hawks (16-4) play a three-game playoff set with Cayuga starting Friday.

The only other Texan with at least 40 RBI is Logan Jenkins, a sophomore from Collinsville, with 41.
