Aztec had to endure a nine-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bloomfield Bobcats on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Bobcats on October 9th, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

While Aztec might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Bloomfield scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 15-25, 25-23.

Riley Yoakum paced Aztec's offense, picking up nine kills. Yoakum got some help from Jazzlyn Gomez and her 17 assists. Finally, Gomez was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Aztec's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 7-12. As for Bloomfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
