Basketball Recap: Shaw Takes a Loss

Shaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 47-14 defeat at the hands of the Firestone Falcons.

Despite the loss, Shaw still got an impressive performance from Kyra Smith-Goard, who posted eight points.

Firestone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kennedy Whiting led the charge by putting up 15 points. Mariah Richards was another key player, earning ten points.

Shaw's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Firestone, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Shaw has already played their next matchup, a 42-29 defeat against Garfield Heights on the 25th. As for Firestone, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-50 loss against Garfield Community Learning Center on the 23rd.
