Softball Recap: Bishop Grimes Triumphs

Bishop Grimes lost to Weedsport back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Cobras came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 18-13. The game was the first time the Cobras have beaten the Wolverines on their field since May 3, 2017.

Bishop Grimes got a massive performance out of Ruby Butler, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Corl, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Bishop Grimes has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 17.0 runs this season. As for Weedsport, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Grimes will head out to square off against Hannibal at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weedsport, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Lyons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
