Basketball Recap: Liberty Tree Academy Takes a Loss

Liberty Tree Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 56-35 to the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles. The War Eagles lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-13 score last time.

Leading Pikes Peak Christian to victory were Megan Ferguson and Bella Fletcher. Ferguson dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds, while Fletcher almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Ferguson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Sophie Petersen was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Liberty Tree Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Pikes Peak Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

Coming up, Liberty Tree Academy will take on Miami-Yoder at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pikes Peak Christian, they will face off against Cripple Creek-Victor at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
