Basketball Game Preview: Chariho Chargers vs. Middletown Islanders

The Chariho Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Middletown Islanders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chariho has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 13.

Last Tuesday, Chariho was beaten by West Warwick 94-50.

Meanwhile, Middletown came up short against Cranston West on Tuesday and fell 55-45.

Middletown has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Chariho, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Chariho lost to Middletown on the road by a decisive 61-46 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Chariho avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
