Softball Game Preview: Eastern View Cyclones vs. Culpeper County Blue Devils

Eastern View has gone 9-1 against Culpeper County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cyclones will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 6:45 p.m. Eastern View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Eastern View's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Spotsylvania 2-0. The Cyclones haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Spotsylvania's batters probably weren't too happy with Cailin Rendell, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Rendell has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sara Hopper, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kierstin Settle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Culpeper County got the win against Albemarle on Friday by a conclusive 14-2. Considering the Blue Devils have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win got Culpeper County back to even at 9-9. As for Eastern View, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
