Baseball Recap: Deer Creek-Mackinaw's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Deer Creek-Mackinaw came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Fieldcrest Knights by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in April.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw got a great performance from Keagan Brown as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, Brown posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Parker Eggenberger was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Fogle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

The win got Deer Creek-Mackinaw back to even at 15-15. As for Fieldcrest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13.

Coming up, Deer Creek-Mackinaw will be playing at home against Prairie Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.52 runs per game on average), something the Chiefs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Fieldcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
