Football Game Preview: King's Academy Lions vs. Inlet Grove Hurricanes

King's Academy is a perfect 3-0 against Inlet Grove since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. The game will give King's Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Last Friday, King's Academy slipped by American Heritage 15-14.

King's Academy found their leader in freshman Fletcher Hodges, who rushed for 154 yards and one TD on only six carries. Hodges really tore up the turf during one magnificent 92-yard run. Roman Driggers helped out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards.

King's Academy's run defense was locked in: American Heritage could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Levi Champion for the heroic effort on defense: he. King's Academy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.9.

Meanwhile, Inlet Grove earned a 25-12 victory over Somerset Academy South Homestead on Friday.

Inlet Grove had a senior duo take command as Cornelius Terry rushed for 158 yards on only six carries and Rj Hickox threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes.

Inlet Grove now has a winning record of 2-1. As for King's Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

King's Academy strolled past Inlet Grove when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a score of 17-0. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
