Baseball Recap: Robertson Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Five must be Robertson's lucky number: they beat Santa Fe Indian with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Cardinals beat the Braves by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won four in a row.

Diego Maez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brenen Deisler, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Lucero, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Robertson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Santa Fe Indian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.
