Baseball Recap: Lennard Drops Season-High Score on Riverview

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lennard). They put the hurt on the Riverview Sharks with a sharp 27-4 win on Thursday. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Pablo Garcia looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lennard got a massive performance out of Mikie Locke, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and one run. Those five RBI gave Locke a new career-high. R.J. Torres was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Lennard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.4.

Lennard's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Riverview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10.

Lennard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Strawberry Crest on the 29th. As for Riverview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 defeat against Gaither on the 29th.
