Recap: Lake Minneola Hawks vs. Eustis Panthers

After flying high against the East Ridge Knights last Friday, the Lake Minneola Hawks came back down to earth. Lake Minneola fell 63-50 to Eustis on Thursday. The game was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but Lake Minneola was outscored by Eustis in the second.

Lake Minneola's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Blackwell, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Isom, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Lake Minneola now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Eustis, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Minneola won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. East Ridge comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Eustis, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Evans at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
