Basketball Game Preview: Wellington Wolverines vs. Academy of Central Florida Golden Bulls

Having just played yesterday, the Wellington Wolverines will jump right back in to play the Academy of Central Florida Golden Bulls at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Wellington is headed into Saturday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Miami Country Day.

Meanwhile, Academy of Central Florida didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Balboa back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Golden Bulls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Roughriders are ranked 23rd).

Academy of Central Florida now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wellington, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
