Baseball Recap: Canfield Find Success

Canfield lost to South Range back in May of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Cardinals walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Joey Gabriel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Groner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Canfield's record is now 15-10. As for South Range, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.

Coming up, Canfield will be taking part in a tournament against Coventry at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Range, they will face off against Berkshire at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders are facing the Badgers at the right time seeing as the Badgers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
