Basketball Game Preview: Windham Whippets vs. Bacon Academy Bobcats

Windham hasn't had much luck against Bacon Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Windham Whippets will square off against the Bacon Academy Bobcats at 10:00 a.m. Windham will be looking to extend their current 20-game winning streak.

Windham is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They skirted past Stonington 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Whippets have posted since March 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bacon Academy faced off against Seymour on Monday. Bacon Academy blew past Seymour, posting a 63-30 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

The victory (which was Bacon Academy's 17th in a row) raised their record to 24-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Windham, they pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home.

Windham didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Bacon Academy in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 42-38 victory. Will Windham repeat their success, or does Bacon Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
