Columbus waltzed into their match on Monday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Sealy Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since August 28th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Columbus who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 27-29, 25-14, 21-25, 15-9.

Columbus' record now sits at 37-4. As for Sealy, they moved to 26-12 with that loss, which also ended their 14-match winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Columbus will challenge Nixon-Smiley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sealy, they will square off against Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
