Soccer Game Preview: West Valley vs. Live Oak

The West Valley Eagles will head out to square off against the Live Oak Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Live Oak took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Valley, who comes in off a win.

West Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Central Valley get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for West Valley in their matchups with Central Valley: they've now won six in a row.

West Valley's offense was hitting Central Valley from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Dom Krick led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Live Oak challenged Corning on Thursday. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, Live Oak's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 11-10-2. As for West Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-9-2.

West Valley might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Live Oak when the teams last played back in February of 2020. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
