Volleyball Recap: Northside Christian Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northside Christian can now relate to. They came up short against the Tampa Prep Terrapins on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Terrapins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-17.

Aaliyah Cancellari paced Northside Christian's offense, picking up eight kills. Cancellari got some help from Elle Smith and her 18 assists. Candice Holloway controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Tampa Prep found their leader in sophomore Sophia Merenda, who had nine digs and two aces.

With the defeat, Northside Christian broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 18-11. As for Tampa Prep, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7.

Northside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tampa Prep has already played their next contest (against Indian Rocks Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
