Basketball Game Preview: Bennington Badgers vs. Scottsbluff Bearcats

Bennington hasn't had much luck against Scottsbluff recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bennington Badgers will be playing at home against the Scottsbluff Bearcats at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bennington is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Blair: they outscored them in every quarter. Bennington strolled past Blair with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 51-34. Given the Badgers' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Bears are ranked 69th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scottsbluff). They greeted the New Year with with a 63-44 victory over Chadron. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bearcats with their most commanding win of the season.

Bennington's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Scottsbluff, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
