Unity Christian let Zeeland East stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Tuesday but luckily Unity Christian prevailed anyway. The Crusaders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chix, sneaking past 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Chix: they've now won five in a row.

Madeline Dykhouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Makenna Bareman was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Oosterheert, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Unity Christian's win bumped their record up to 27-6. As for Zeeland East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Unity Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Zeeland East: the pair will be back at it again later today.
