Soccer Game Preview: Smiths Station vs. Montgomery Academy

Smiths Station hasn't had much luck against Montgomery Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

Smiths Station is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Auburn, who was ranked third at the time (Smiths Station was ranked 23rd). The Panthers came up short against the Tigers on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Smiths Station couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Montgomery Academy and Chelsea finished up their game with a 2-2 draw two weeks ago.

Smiths Station's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. With that draw, Montgomery Academy's record moves to 10-3-3.

Smiths Station couldn't quite get it done against Montgomery Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2021 as they fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
