Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Palmdale Academy Charter School

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Palmdale Academy Charter School ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lucerne Valley Mustangs, sneaking past 10-8. The win was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Derek Martinez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over 7.1 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Palmdale Academy Charter School is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Isaac Torres was incredible, firing off three triples, three stolen bases, and three RBI while going 5-for-5. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Alessio Ruiz was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Palmdale Academy Charter School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive contests.

Palmdale Academy Charter School pushed their record up to 3-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
