West Marion won the last time they faced Loyd Star and things went their way  on Monday too. The Trojans walked away with  a   5-2  win over the Hornets. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Trojans.
 Izzy Pittman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Caydance Brumfield was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-3.  Laleigh Duncan was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
 West Marion was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loyd Star only posted a  batting average of  .167.
West Marion's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Loyd Star, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
 West Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loyd Star, they will challenge Pelahatchie at 2:00  p.m.  on Friday.
