Basketball Game Preview: Latexo Tigers vs. Lovelady Lions

Latexo is 0-10 against Lovelady since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Latexo Tigers challenge the Lovelady Lions at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Monday, Latexo took a blow against Leon, falling 53-17. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1127th, while the Cougars are ranked 476th).

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Lovelady's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leon.

Latexo now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Lovelady, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 23-5.
