Basketball Recap: Roswell Takes a Loss

Roswell lost against Lassiter back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Roswell Hornets opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-42 loss to the Lassiter Trojans. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 13-8 in the first quarter.

TJ Shinkle was his usual excellent self, going 5 for 8 on his way to 19 points for Lassiter. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Liston, who posted nine points.

Roswell's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Lassiter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Roswell will take on Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lassiter, they will square off against Riverwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
