Recap: Victory Christian Academy Patriots vs. Faustina Academy Falcons
Even though The Faustina Academy Falcons scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Victory Christian Academy Patriots still came out on top. Victory Christian Academy snuck past Faustina Academy with a 61-55 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Victory Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Leading Victory Christian Academy to victory were Jerran Martin and Cyrus Gaither . Martin gained 141 total yards and four touchdowns, while Gaither rushed for 229 yards and a touchdown while picking up 12.1 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Oates, who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Faustina Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Damian Sipe, who rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns. Matthew Denny also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
The win makes it two in a row for Victory Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Faustina Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-1.
Victory Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Covenant Classical at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Covenant Classical will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Faustina Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. King's Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
