Basketball Game Preview: Miami-Yoder Buffaloes vs. Evangel Christian Academy Eagles

Miami-Yoder is 0-10 against Evangel Christian Academy since January of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Buffaloes will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Miami-Yoder is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Genoa-Hugo/Karval on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Miami-Yoder's defeat came about despite a quality game from Mindy Quintana-Vazquez, who posted eight points. Quintana-Vazquez is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy had to suffer through a 62-17 loss at the hands of Simla. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.

Miami-Yoder's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 14-2.

Miami-Yoder suffered a grim 50-29 defeat to Evangel Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Buffaloes were down 37-8.
