Baseball Game Preview: Turlock Bulldogs vs. Downey Knights

For the second straight game, Turlock will face off against Downey. The Bulldogs will square off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Turlock will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

If Turlock beats Downey with four runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Knights on Monday.

Jaron Rocha spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Sevilla was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Cooper Pacheco was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Turlock's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Downey, they moved to 13-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
