The Old Colony RVT Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Old Colony RVT's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven matchups.
On Friday, Old Colony RVT made easy work of South Shore Vo-Tech and carried off a 16-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.
Sharon Delancey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lindsay Sumner was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Abby Norton, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Old Colony RVT hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive games.
Upper Cape Cod RVT came out on top against Cape Cod RVT on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Rams walked away with an 11-8 win over the Crusaders.
Upper Cape Cod RVT also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Amaya Irving gave up five earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Upper Cape Cod RVT got a massive performance out of Rosalie Neville, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that Neville has snagged this season. Kenley Thomas was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Old Colony RVT's record is now 11-4-1. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, their record now sits at 4-8.
Upper Cape Cod RVT's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Old Colony RVT has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Upper Cape Cod RVT, though, as they've been averaging 11.8 hits. Given Old Colony RVT's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Old Colony RVT might still be hurting after the 22-16 loss they got from Upper Cape Cod RVT in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
