Soccer Game Preview: Shenendehowa vs. Saratoga Springs

The Shenendehowa Plainsmen will take on the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Shenendehowa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Guilderland as they made off with a 4-1 victory. Shenendehowa might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Saratoga Springs entered their tilt with Shaker on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Bison get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Given Saratoga Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Shaker are ranked 96th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Saratoga Springs' victory bumped their record up to 12-4-1. As for Shenendehowa, their win bumped their record up to 12-2-1.

Shenendehowa beat Saratoga Springs 2-0 in their previous meeting on October 7th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Plainsmen since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
