Softball Recap: Seymour Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Seymour walked away with it. They never let the Goodwin RVT Gladiators get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Nobody will forget Cassidy Marcinczyk's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Goodwin RVT's batters): she turned in a perfect game. Marcinczyk has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maggie Sudimick was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daphne Shea, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Seymour's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Goodwin RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Seymour will take on Hand at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. Goodwin RVT does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
